Staff Computers:

• Operating System & Applications: All staff computers are equipped with licensed Windows to latest including Win 10 and Win11 along with M365, Office 365, MS Office 2016 etc.
• Specialist Software: Includes design software, Acrobat Reader, licensed extracting software, antivirus programs, and multimedia applications (e.g., Flash Player, Real Player).
• Software Installation: Java and other software are installed based on the specific work requirements of the staff.
• Support: For any additional specialized software needs, AOU stakeholders should contact the IT support team. All software must comply with AOU standards.

Computer Labs and LRC Computers:

• General Access: Computers in the LRC and labs are available for student use.
• Specialized Labs: Language Labs are designated for students in English courses and may have specific access restrictions.
• Availability: The labs are open Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 to 20:00.
• Course Materials: Computer Labs are pre-installed with regular coursework materials. For additional course materials on student laptops, requests should be made to the IT Department Team by the tutor.

IT Support:

• Contact: AOU stakeholders can reach out to the IT support team for assistance with software installations or other IT-related issues.
• Student Support: IT Department Team provides support for course materials on student laptops as needed, based on tutor requests.
• Note: All software and systems must comply with AOU standards and licensing requirements.​
