Enhance your post-graduation career by enrolling in professional courses and training programmes
Ammar Ahmed Al-Afoo is a 2014 alumnus, with a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Computing from Arab Open University, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Ammar began his academic life after receiving a scholarship to join Arab Open University; in particular, to study Information Technology and Computing. After three semesters, Ammar felt unfit for the selected Program, though. However, encouraged by his tutors to continue his studies, and with the help of the Peer Assisted Study Sessions, Ammar managed to complete his studies; mastering the basic programming languages, particularly Java and SQL, the matter that qualified him for a job; even before he graduated.
After graduation, Ammar moved to the Human Resources field and began to attend HR courses in order to gain more practice-based knowledge in the field. It is noteworthy that his graduation project was to design a new computational system for the use of Human Resources Management, Training and Recruitment.
Ammar believes in changing the career path, and moving to an entirely different job that is not necessarily directly related to his expertise; as a turning point. He would specialize in Information Technology and Computing, working in this field for a number of years. However, he would soon move to the HR field which is, just to an extent, related to his BA Graduation Project. What Ammar wants to assert is that the access to success, career-wise, is to link theory to practice, gaining and then employing the required skills and knowledge in the right way and in the right place, in order to efficiently become a successful employee.
