The Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Bahrain Branch. The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Her Excellency Dr. Najma Taqi, President of the University, and on behalf of IEEE by Dr. Ali Hussein Zulait, Head of the Bahrain Branch. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in several areas, including establishing a student branch and a technical community within the university, supporting the technical and technological development of students and faculty members, organizing joint workshops and training, and holding conferences and seminars aimed at societal impact through technology, in addition to cooperation in joint research projects.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the largest technical professional organization in the world, dedicated to developing innovation and technical excellence to serve humanity, and includes members working in the fields of electricity, electronics, computing, and related sectors.

Dr. Najma Taqi stressed that this agreement represents an important step towards strengthening the partnership between the university and leading technical entities, which opens new horizons for university students in the fields of innovation and scientific research.
