Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain organized the first AOU Open Day. The event included introducing the university and its programs, in the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, PM Lulwa Ali Al-Rumaihi, (Member), President of Al-Muntalaq Women's Society, Noaman Mohammed Najeeb, Training Director at AMEX Middle East, Noor Abdullah Abdullatif, Head of UPDA (Urban Planning & Development Authority), Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Maram Al-Bassam Head of Human Resources Department at the Authority for Culture and Antiquities, journalist Sarah Al-Bannai, MBC Group, and Omamah Boukamal, a blogger on social media, and a number of invitees.
Dr. GhurmAllah bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said: “AOU Open Day comes to introduce a large segment of society members who are interested in the new specializations offered by the University, as well as introducing them to high-quality educational and training services, as the University administration seeks to achieve its academic excellence and develop scientific research quality standards through the scientific references available at the University, which targets all existing disciplines to serve the largest segment of students at the University and to enhance their academic and scientific outputs.”
The University President indicated that the new majors were introduced according to AOU vision and plan to provide an integrated study program that enables students to access all necessary information from academic staff members at the University, in addition to scientific references that they can refer to at any time.
Head of the Department of Community Engagement and Marketing, Ms. Amina Taqi, stated: “AOU Open Day is an opportunity to communicate with all segments of society, and for students to meet with professors at the University to discuss study plans, available majors, and aspects of development in education, in addition to viewing the study facilities that are equipped with interactive devices utilized to best present information and to ensure delivery of information to students through practice.
She further added, "Through this day, we were keen to talk about the most prominent new majors at the University, including Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. We presented the study plans for these majors, as well as the teaching methods used, and answered all students' questions."
Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, said: “We were very pleased to attend the event and to learn about the pioneering academic programs offered by Arab Open University to students in the Kingdom, in addition to the plans and achievements that have been made in order to contribute to the development of the academic levels of students, as we noticed that the University is characterized by a future vision through its adoption of important majors such as Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, where it is possible to invest in Artificial Intelligence in the sports sector and benefit from the University’s outputs for the sports future in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
Consequent to AOU Open Day, Dr. Gharamullah bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of the University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented with Dr. Ibrahim bin Rashid Al-Nayem, President of Arab Media Center in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the most important academic developments in the University and the study fees, as well as the strategies adopted to cater for people with special needs and providing required study methods to facilitate their studies; being an effective and influential segment of our local society.
