His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Sheikh Abdul Hussein Al-Asfour, Governor of the Northern Governorate, attended the celebration held by Arab Open University on the National Day to commemorate the establishment of the modern state by the founder Ahmed Al-Fateh as an Arab and Muslim state in 1783, and the anniversary of the reign of His gracious Majesty, the King. Dr. GhurmAllah Al-Ghamdi, President of the University, the administrative and educational staff members, and a number of guests and invitees were at the reception.
His Excellency the Governor extended his sincere congratulations to His Majesty the King, His Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and the people of Bahrain on the occasion of the glorious National Day and the royal feast of Sitting of His Majesty the King. “We are proud of this educational institution and cultural edifice located in the Northern Governorate, and its great contribution to Academic achievement of postgraduate students who are empowered to manage their unique study-life and work", Mr. Al-Asfour stated.
Subsequently, Mr. Al-Asfour toured the celebration ground to see performances by Bahraini folklore bands, a shopping exhibition for crafts, children's games, entertainment activities, and a food festival. Mr. Al-Asfour expressed his pleasure at the mass attendance of students and their families, added to AOU educational and administrative staff members. Mr. Al-Asfour, further, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the president of the University and all its affiliates, wishing them more success ahead.
