​Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transport and Communications, Huawei Bahrain held a celebration; honouring the participants in the ICT competition that the company organizes every year for university students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Arab Open University was honoured during this celebration for its efforts during the previous years, its effective cooperation with the company, and for encouraging its students to participate in all activities of Huawei Academy. On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. GhurmAllah Al-Ghamdi, AOU President, thanked Huawei and praised its efforts in meeting the needs and aspirations of university students and for providing a set of interesting activities during the year. Dr. Hisham El-Tahawy, Head of the Training Center, also thanked Huawei and emphasized the University's role in encouraging its students to participate in all training programmes and competitions offered by Huawei. Dr. El-Tahawi, furthermore, stressed the keenness of all Huawei staff to continuously and directly coordinate with AOU Training Center in order to ensure success of students’ participation, and in order to obtain the maximum benefit from their participation—the matter which is reflected in their coherent progression of knowledge and skills.​​
