Under the kind patronage of Director of the Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Ghurmallh bin Abdulla Al-Ghamdi, the Department of Students' Affair and the Graduates in cooperation with Alumni Club organized a virtual ceremony (the alumni reunion and the annual meeting for the academic year 2020-2021) on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in the presence of the Director of the university, a number of its affiliates, students, and graduates.
In his turn, the Director of the university, Dr. Ghurmallh bin Abdulla Al-Ghamdi, welcomed the attendees and participants, expressing his happiness to meet the graduates, who responded to the invitation despite the exceptional circumstances imposed by the pandemic, praising the efforts of the coordination committee headed by his Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, the Honorable Prime Minister; to fend off the pandemic, and the university's keenness to work, in accordance with the lofty directions, and the directions of the General Secretariat of the Higher Education Council (HEC), to preserve students, alumni and all university affiliates. His Excellency the Director of the university addressed the most prominent achievements of the university, of which was obtaining the institutional accreditation from the HEC, and meeting the requirements of the Education and Training Quality Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Ms. Eman Reda Abdulrasool, head of Students Affairs and Graduates Department, expressed her pride of the university's graduates, and their avidness to participate in this party and annual meeting by taking part in the varied segments of the party, and reviewing their success stories.
Ms. Noor Al-Sayed Jawad, a member of the Alumni Club, gave a speech in which she called on all graduates to support the club and participate in all its events and programs that help achieving the goals of the club.
In his turn, Dr. Hisham Eltahawy, head of the Center for Training, Continuing Education and Community Service, announced the launch of the first phase of the training for employment programmes, in a step aimed toward qualifying university graduates for the labour market by providing them with the mandatory skills to urge the correct jobs; to be the best choice for business owners.
In conclusion, the graduates expressed their happiness with this party and annual meeting that has become a practice of the Arab Open University, as it represents the bridge of giving, that the university pledged to extend with its affiliates, through the meeting of classmates, after years of interruption, in an exceedingly university celebration that reunited them; to revive the spirit of pride, brotherhood, and loyalty, and to reconnect with the university.
