In the light of AOU-Bahrain's responsibility to create and foster an entrepreneurial culture that encourages students and motivates them to enter this field, Students' Counseling Unit in cooperation with the Student Affairs Department launched the first session of the "Entrepreneurial Projects" series on Thursday, May 27th, 2021.
During the session, three students delivered presentations on their own businesses. The first presentation was “Art and Design / Made in Home" delivered by the student Maryam Al Sheikh from the Faculty of Business Studies, the second was “Brand Outlet" by the student Mohammed Janahi, also from the Faculty of Business Studies. The third was “Blossom Perfume" by the student Heba Al Sayed Moayad from the Faculty of Language Studies. In addition, the student Wadha Al-Sardi from the Faculty of Language Studies presented her new idea “Bahraini (Uber)", and the student Ali Hussain Sharaf from Faculty of Business Studies shared his idea about "Kebaci celal" project.
The members of the advisory committee which includes Professor Ghada Abdel Hafeez, Dean of Faculty of Language Studies, Dr. La'ala Al-Aali, Dr. Siddiq Ibrahim, and Dr. Muhammad Reda Al-Qash'ami, from the Faculty of Business Studies, and Dr. Abdel-Rahman Al-Awadi, a faculty member at the Faculty of Computer Studies, gave their comments and advice to students to develop their projects and to turn their ambitious plans and ideas into reality.
This session is the first in a series of many upcoming sessions which aim to spread awareness about entrepreneurship among AOU students, share ideas, support potential entrepreneurs in starting their new projects, and discuss students and graduates' success stories.
