Arab Open University Participates in Bahrain Islamic Bank Sustainability Hackathon
Under the supervision of Dr. Hassan Razzaqi, Arab Open University students participated in the “Sustainability Hackathon" event held at the Hope Fund headquarters in Seef District, during the period from October 9 to 13, 2024. The event included the participation of more than 100 students from 10 leading local universities, with the aim of developing innovative solutions to pressing environmental challenges in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The participation of university students was distinguished by their innovations and creative ideas aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and providing practical solutions that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, such as achieving carbon neutrality and preserving natural resources. Dr. Hassan Razzaqi stressed the importance of this participation in promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, in addition to encouraging them to think creatively and collaboratively to address current environmental challenges.
Dr. Hassan added: “The Arab Open University believes in the ability of young people to bring about positive change in society by providing innovative and sustainable solutions. Our participation in this hackathon comes to enhance the university's role in achieving sustainable development goals and supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain's vision of building a greener and more sustainable future.
