Minister of Youth Affairs signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Arab Open University, Bahrain
Her Excellency Ms. Rowan Bint Najib Toufiki, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasized that the Ministry has always sought to establish national partnerships and to build close cooperation with various stakeholders supporting the youth sector, with the goal of achieving its vision of launching initiatives and programmes for Bahraini youth that contribute to the development of their skills and abilities, and open the way for them to acquire more scientific and educational expertise.
This came during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Dr. Najma Taqi, President Arab Open University, Bahrain. The Minister noted that this Memorandum will serve as a common platform for both sides with the shared concern to empower Bahraini youth, to discover and refine their skills and to increase their qualitative opportunities and qualify them as future leaders.
The Memorandum provides for students of Open Arab University to participate in events, activities and competitions offered by the Ministry or its affiliates, and to carry out research projects in coordination with the two parties in fields pertaining to youth. In addition, The Memorandum opens door of participation in events, activities and programmes offered by Arab Open University to the general youth public in the age group up to 35 years, in coordination with the two parties, as well as enabling young people, who are members of various bodies working in the field of youth, to benefit from the University's facilities.
From her part, Dr. Najma Taqi, President of Arab Open University, said: “We look forward to working with the Ministry of Youth Affairs to achieve our common goals in the interest of young people and their future, as they are in line with the University's strategy and our goals to empower young people and facilitate the launch of their initiatives and projects. This Memorandum, therefore, will enable university students and young people to benefit from the space and programmes that this constructive Memorandum will provide".
The President of Open Arab University further added that this Memorandum is part of the University's commitment to supporting and developing the potential of Bahraini youth, and providing them with the right environment for creativity and innovation.
