Upon the end of the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, AOU Learning Resources Centre has come to the achievement of providing 13 training workshops on “Research Skills and Techniques Using Digital Resources" presented by Ms. Alia Al-Aradi, Head of the Learning Resources Cenrter, which was attended by approximately 392 students.
The goal of these workshops was to enhance the skills of research among students and to familiarize them with the steps needed to conduct academic and scientific research properly. Students can use the LRC in order to write their TMA papers, as it is necessary in most of the academic courses. The workshops included two parts: a theoretical part and a practical part: The importance of the E-library was addressed in the theoretical part, while in the practical part; students were trained on how to conduct research. In addition, the workshop also highlighted the research ethics, the steps of proper citation and some techniques that can help avoid plagiarism. Ms. Alia Al-Aradi, Head of the Learning Resources Center, praised the efforts of the Deans and the Academic Staff at all Faculties for their keenness to provide such workshops that are believed to develop the students' skills and enhance the teaching-learning process.
Last but not least, the workshops have been received positively by the students, as the recorded sessions have all been uploaded on the LMS for future reference.
