I am delighted to welcome you to the Faculty of Language Studies FLS at the Arab Open University in Bahrain. Our faculty is part of a pioneering university network with branches across nine Arab countries, distinguished by accredited academic programmes in partnership with the Open University in the United Kingdom.
At the Faculty of Language Studies, we believe that education is a continuous journey of discovery and growth. Through our programmes in English Language and Literature field, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in a world characterized by diversity and constant change. We focus on developing critical thinking, effective communication, and cultural awareness, opening up vast opportunities in fields such as education, translation, media, writing, and public relations.
We are proud to offer distinguished academic programmes, such as the Bachelor of Arts (honours)in English Language and Literature. Furthermore, owing to this importance, the Faculty of Language Studies (FLS) has made it a point to offer programmes that meet the needs of the job market through introducing this highly important MA programme in the area of teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL). This essential programme aims at training students in the area of teaching English to advanced levels of students. All in all, both programmes are awarded with dual award from the Open University in the United Kingdom and the Arab Open University.
We are committed to providing an educational environment that encourages critical thinking, enhances communication skills, and prepares our students to face future challenges with confidence and professionalism.
