Arab Open University Organizes an Integrated Life-Saving and Health Awareness Workshop for Children
The Training, Continuing Education and Community Service Department at the Arab Open University organized a workshop titled “An Integrated Program for Life Saving and Health Awareness for Children” on 15 February 2026, delivered by the pediatrician Dr. Ahmed Salem, at the university, with the participation of a wide audience from the educational and healthcare sectors.
The workshop targeted kindergarten and school staff, teachers, administrators, parents, bus supervisors, and healthcare providers, aiming to equip them with essential life-saving and health awareness skills through practical, interactive training based on internationally recognized medical guidelines.
During the session, Dr. Ahmed Salem focused on three main areas: emergency response and life-saving skills, key public health concepts, and the promotion of children's physical and psychological safety. The program adopted an interactive training methodology combining theoretical explanations with hands-on practice to ensure participants gained the necessary confidence and competence to respond effectively to emergencies such as choking, seizures, and sudden injuries.
This initiative reflects the Arab Open University’s commitment to its community engagement mission, promoting a culture of safety and prevention while empowering educational institutions and families to create safer and more sustainable learning environments for children.
