Bahrain Bourse opens Its doors to Arab Open University students to explore the capital market ecosystem
The Student and Graduate Affairs Department at the Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain organized a field visit to Bahrain Bourse aimed at enhancing students' financial literacy and familiarizing them with investment and trading mechanisms in financial markets.
The Bourse team delivered an introductory presentation on Bahrain's capital market ecosystem, which includes Bahrain Bourse, the Bahrain Clearing Company, and the Tabadul Platform. The presentation explained the difference between the primary and secondary markets and introduced categories of traded assets such as stocks, bonds, sukuk, and investment funds.
The discussion also covered market indicators, including the Bahrain All Share Index and the Bahrain Islamic Index, along with the price determination mechanism based on buy and sell orders, and the factors influencing stock movements. Students also learned about the Bahrain Investment Market (BIM) and the role of licensed brokers in facilitating trading operations.
The visit highlighted financial literacy initiatives such as the TradeQuest Competition and the Smart Investor Program, both of which contribute to enhancing students' financial awareness and developing their investment skills.
At the conclusion of the visit, students expressed their gratitude to Bahrain Bourse for the valuable educational experience, which effectively bridged academic learning with practical application within a dynamic economic environment.
