Arab Open University Organizes Awareness Event: "Journey of Hope… We Start with a Check and Continue with Life"
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote health awareness among students and the wider community, the Arab Open University (AOU) organized an awareness event in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month under the slogan "Journey of Hope… We Start with a Check and Continue with Life." The event was held in collaboration with the Nabdat Hayat volunteer team and several specialized health centers, including Abrar Center for Therapeutic Nutrition, Inaya Center for Physical Therapy, Shifa Al-Jazeera Center, and Al-Baqali Dental Center. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of regular check-ups and early detection of breast cancer, highlight key symptoms and preventive measures, and encourage healthy lifestyle habits such as proper nutrition and regular physical exercise.
The event featured specialized awareness stations where partner organizations provided a range of health services and advice. Abrar Center for Therapeutic Nutrition offered dietary consultations focusing on preventive nutrition. Inaya Center for Physical Therapy introduced participants to effective preventive exercises. Shifa Al-Jazeera Center conducted vital health screenings and distributed free early detection vouchers, while Al-Baqali Dental Center delivered educational sessions on the importance of oral health and its link to preventing certain types of cancer, along with free dental check-up vouchers. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to supporting health and community causes, promoting early detection, and contributing to building a healthier and more informed society.
