Arab Open University Participates in the Global Water, Energy, and Climate Change Conference 2025 and Excels in the Green Guardians Hackathon
The Arab Open University – Bahrain took part in the proceedings of the second Global Water, Energy, and Climate Change Conference (GWECCC 2025), held from September 9 to 11, 2025, at the Exhibition Center – Zallaq.
The conference was attended by an elite group of decision-makers and international experts, serving as a leading global platform for discussing challenges and opportunities related to sustainability and natural resource security.
Alongside its academic participation in the conference's sessions and workshops, the event featured the "Green Guardians Hackathon 2025", a competition dedicated to university students from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which ran over four consecutive days.
A number of students from the Arab Open University participated, working within multidisciplinary youth teams to develop innovative solutions in the fields of water, energy, and climate change.
This participation provided the university's students with a valuable opportunity for hands-on learning, honing their skills in innovation, teamwork, and critical thinking. It also facilitated their direct engagement with industry experts and decision-makers, enhancing their capabilities and showcasing their potential on both a national and Gulf-wide level.
The university's administration affirmed that this participation reflects its commitment to societal responsibility and its dedication to involving its students in pioneering initiatives that contribute to building a conscious generation capable of addressing environmental challenges and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals.
