​​The Arab Open University – Bahrain branch – received special recognition for its outstanding efforts in supporting digital education and building student capabilities. This recognition occurred during the closing ceremony of the Huawei Bahrain ICT Talent Development Program 2024, which was held on 29, June, 2025, at the e-Learning Center at the University of Bahrain.

Dr. Najma Taqi accepted the honorary shield on behalf of the University from His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, with Mr. Harry Yu, CEO of Huawei Bahrain, also present.

Additionally, the Training, Continuous Education and Community Service Department at the University was recognized as the best entity for providing a distinguished educational initiative on the Huawei Academic platform. Dr. Hassan Razzaqi, Head of the Department, received this honor in appreciation of the quality initiatives that have contributed to enhancing students' efficiency and keeping pace with modern technological advancements.

This honor serves as testament to the successful partnership between the Arab Open University and Huawei Bahrain, as well as the University's ongoing commitment to developing its students' skills and preparing them for the digital job market.
