Dr. Salabat Khan is an Associate Professor in Computer Science/AI with over a decade of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience across internationally recognized institutions. He is currently serving at Arab Open University (Bahrain), where he is engaged in teaching and research in Artificial Intelligence, Web Technologies, and Edge Intelligence.
Previously, he has held academic positions at Sakarya University (Türkiye) and COMSATS University Islamabad (Pakistan), where he contributed to teaching, curriculum development, and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. He has also served as an Invited Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Jeju National University (South Korea) under the prestigious Brain Pool Program, focusing on decentralized edge intelligence, swarm learning, and neural architecture search optimization.
His research interests include decentralized and federated learning, edge intelligence, swarm intelligence, optimization techniques, and AI-driven applications in smart environments such as traffic systems, healthcare, and IoT-enabled smart homes. He has actively supervised/ mentored BS, MS, and PhD students and contributed to academic program development and research initiatives.
