Dear Student,
Considering the importance of educational packages as one of the main pillars of the independent education system and the orientation of the integrated education system applied at the Arab Open University, the Department of Purchases, Learning Resources and Stores provides this comprehensive guide which contains useful information and data regarding the regulations and instructions related to these packages.
At the beginning of each academic semester of each academic year, the Department of Purchases, Learning Resources and Stores announces the schedule of receiving educational packages through the official channels of the University, in accordance with the following conditions and controls:
1- Educational packages are received from the Learning Resources Department.
2- Students who have paid tuition fees through the website could visit the Department of Learning Resources directly to receive their packages without the need to refer to the Department of Finance.
3 – No installments are accepted for the educational packages fees as they must be paid in full upon registration of the course.
4. The fees for educational packages are non-refundable except in exceptional cases. (Details in Item 9)
5- If the students of Business Administration and Information Technology register a two-part course (Part A & Part B), the value of the educational package will be due for both parts immediately upon the registration of the first part of the course. This does not apply to English Language and Literature students.
6- In case of lack in one or more component of the educational packages, the Learning Resources Department will provide you with the incomplete educational package (partially received) until the completion of the education package. Students will be notified in the form of a text message (SMS) to visit the Learning Resources Department to receive the missing component(s).
7 – In case of re-enrollment; for any course due to failure, or to improve your academic status, you must pay the value of the book, in case the edition was revised or updated.
8- You are not entitled to return the educational package and claim a refund in the following cases:
- If you change your academic specialization, you are not entitled in any way to return the educational package for this specialization, or request replacing it with the new specialization packages, and this applies to all majors with no exceptions.
- In all cases of withdrawal, the value of the Educational Packages is not returned or frozen for subsequent Semesters.
9 - Dear student,
You have the right to return the educational packages and redeem value in the following cases:
- Be subjected to wrong academic advising, resulting in registration of the wrong course according to the study plan.
- Not meeting the minimum number of students required to open a class, which results in closing the course by Registration and Examinations Department.
10 - In case you want to buy books for any reason (such as the loss of your book or its damage... etc) you must first make sure the availability of stock for the desired package at the Learning Resources Department, and then go to the Finance Department to pay the value of the book. Students must present a proof of payment (Receipt) to the Department of Learning Resources to receive the required book.
Finally, dear students, we would like to remind you of the following:
Some courses do not have printed materials but are available as e-books on the Learning Management System (LMS).
We would also like to emphasize the need to adhere to the time period set by the Learning Resources Department to receive educational packages, as the right of the student to claim educational materials is lost after the date specified, according to the pledge that the student makes-- which appears to the student on the Registration screen, as soon as courses are registered-- to visit the Learning Resources Department within the time period specified to receive packages.
