Mona Abbas Al-Abbas, a 2008 alumnus, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Administrative Systems) from Arab Open University; Kingdom of Bahrain.

A pioneer leader in Human Resources Management, with more than 18 years of experience in various sectors. Mona began her career path after receiving a Diploma in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bahrain. She then joined AOU, Kingdom of Bahrain branch in 2004, wishing to obtain a bachelor's degree. This decision came as per her preference for the blended education system, which she found evidently suitable for the nature of her work and her practical lifestyle and, most importantly, due to the affordable tuition fees.

Mona went through many challenges during her study, most notably having her two children in this period. However, these conditions did not hinder her achievements, as she managed to graduate with distinction, and was then at top of AOU Honor List—with the cumulative GPA 4 out of 4.

After graduation, Mona was appointed Human Resources Senior Manager of at Mercury Mena (Middle East) after ascending in hierarchy; having several career positions during these years. She then joined several organizations working mainly in the Human Resources sector, Training and Staff Development. Last but not least, she obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK.
