Arab Open University Inaugurates New Facilities for Female Students and Staff in the Presence of Board of Trustees Members
In a move that underscores its commitment to providing a comprehensive and supportive learning environment, the Arab Open University (AOU) has inaugurated new facilities dedicated to its female students and staff. The opening ceremony was attended by several members of the University's Board of Trustees.
The newly launched amenities include a designated lounge for female students on the first floor, as well as a healthcare room within the university clinic. These spaces are fully equipped to meet the comfort and practical needs of both students and staff, and feature state-of-the-art tools and resources to ensure their well-being and safety.
Board members expressed their satisfaction with this development, highlighting it as a reflection of the university's ongoing commitment to the welfare of its female community members, and its efforts to enhance the overall quality of campus life and work environment.
Dr. Najma Taqi, President of the University, emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader series of developmental projects aimed at upgrading infrastructure and creating a safe, stimulating learning atmosphere. She affirmed that the university places women's needs at the forefront of its priorities and strives to offer comprehensive support within the campus.
Dr. Taqi also noted that this step aligns with the goals of the Supreme Council for Women and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). She stressed that empowering women and enhancing their role in society is a fundamental pillar of the university's vision and long-term strategy.
