The Alumni Club of Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in collaboration with the Faculty of Business Studies, organized on Wednesday 30 Jun 2021 a virtual lecture titled: how to be an effective employee? It was presented by Dr. Laaleh Alaali, the assistant professor in the Faculty of Business Studies through (GoToMeeting).
The lecture aimed to prepare and qualify the university's graduates for work environment through enhancing their occupational skills while working, getting the benefit of the surrounding environment, colleagues' experiences, to enable them to excel in their career.
Dr. Laaleh Alaali shed light on the importance of understanding the employees- at the beginning of their career- their roles, rights, duties, and the value that they will add throughout their work in the organization through reading the job description carefully to set practical and realistic aims. Then, the students must accomplish those aims with taking into consideration the time needed, which lasts from three to four weeks from the commencement of work to be aware of the surrounding environment and its requirements in general.
The lecturer also clarified the most significant competences needed to excel in the field of work, such as the ways of communicating with individuals, body language, teamwork, commitment, which help to prove the self, and add a real and perceptible value to the workplace.
At the end, Dr. Laaleh Alaali expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Student Affairs and Graduates Department for their cooperation. She also pointed to the students and graduates' enthusiastic participation.
