The Students' Counseling Unit (SCU) at the Arab Open University in Bahrain, in cooperation with the Community Service Committee of the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) organized on Sunday July 18, 2021, via virtual space the second session of the "Entrepreneurial Projects" series program titled “Economic System in Bahrain". The session was delivered jointly by Mr. Jalal Majeed a Principal Consultant at Jafcon Consultants and Mr. Abdulla Al-Saeed a Graduate Student from FBS at AOU.
The session began with a speech by Mr. Jalal Majeed, in which he explained the concept of entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial ecosystem model, and its four life stages. Mr. Majeed explained that startup ecosystems are developed through four phases, each with a different set of characteristics, challenges, and objectives. These phases are activation, globalization, attraction, and integration. Mr. Majeed also presented the characteristics of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the classification of the Kingdom of Bahrain within these phases. He clarified that the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom of Bahrain is in the first phase. Mr. Majeed also touched on the entrepreneurship community in Bahrain, in which Tamkeen stands out, in addition to 22 partners and parties. Mr. Majeed concluded his speech by presenting three selected models of female entrepreneurs from Bahrain, Jordan, and Egypt, highlighting entrepreneurial characteristics and skills of each model that help entrepreneurs achieve their goals and succeed in their entrepreneurial projects.
On the other hand, the alumni Abdullah Al-Saeed, the owner of Bait Al-Saeed store, presented his experience in the field of entrepreneurship, discussing challenges and difficulties he faced, and providing valuable advice to students who are planning to start their entrepreneurial projects.
At the end the session, the two guests responded to the questions and queries raised by the students.
This session was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Reda Al-Qashami, a faculty member and Head of the Community Service Committee, at the Faculty of Business Studies at the Arab Open University, Bahrain.
