The Alumni Club of the Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department (SMEs) at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, organized a lecture via virtual space entitled "How to run new business?" It was presented by Ms. Manar Rabeea, Head of the Emerging Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Department in the aforementioned ministry, on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, through the (GoToMeeting) program.
Ms. Manar highlighted the correct foundations for entering the field of entrepreneurship, and the distinctive personal characteristics of entrepreneurs such as strength of personality, initiative, ability to plan, love of risk, teamwork and other characteristics that qualify the entrepreneur to establish a successful project.
In addition, she presented the vision, mission and objectives of the SME's Development Department at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and the services provided that contribute to the development, improvement and encouragement of small and medium enterprises, to raise the level of their participation in the national economy, enhance their contribution to the gross domestic product, as well as to enhance the technical, administrative and marketing skills of entrepreneurs.
During the lecture, participants were also introduced to the characteristics and classifications of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom of Bahrain, such as micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as the Ministry's project to develop institutions through business incubators and accelerators.
At the end of the lecture, Ms. Manar Rabeea expressed her thanks and appreciation to the administration of the university for their good cooperation, and praised the enthusiasm and participation of the students and graduates.
