In conjunction with the World Health Day, The Student Affairs and Graduates Department of the Arab Open University- Bahrain, in cooperation with the Alumni Club, organized a virtual lecture entitled "Healthy Lifestyles". This lecture was presented by AOU Alumus Ms. Bushra Hassan Al-Hindi, Senior Health Promotion Program Specialist at the Ministry of Health, on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 through (GoToMeeting) program.
Several axes have been discussed related to the importance of health and ways to maintain healthy habits. In addition, the presenter defined health responsibility, its stages, the positive and negative impact of a followed lifestyle.
Ms. Al-Hindi delivered a detailed presentation enumerating the criteria for a healthy lifestyle. This included: the diet, reducing stress and anxiety, sleep, physical activities and exercise, avoiding smoking and bad habits that lead to death, and maintaining the health of the heart and brain. Then, she presented ways for changing and renewing one’s lifestyle. This included: changing the environment, the workplace and the way of thinking.
At the end of the lecture, Ms. Bushra Al-Hindi expressed her deep thanks and appreciation to the university administration, for giving her the opportunity to present this lecture, and to contribute in supporting the activities and events of the Alumni Club, and also praised the interaction of the participants in the lecture.
