As per the continuous efforts of Arab Open University to enhance cooperation with different local community organization, Dr. Ghurmllah Al-Ghamdi, AOU Director, signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Khaled Al-Ghazawi, CEO of Ebdaa for Microfinance Company, to support the entrepreneurship initiative has been adopted by Arab Open University to support the entrepreneurial ideas of its students and graduates. Through this agreement, both parties will be able to strengthen the aspects of cooperation in several areas, including AOU initiative of employability skills and professional development, and providing educational loans to the university students who are looking for completing their studies. Dr. Gharmallah Al-Ghamdi, the Director of Arab Open University, confirmed that cooperation with Ebdaa Microfinance Company is a complementary activity that supports the academic progress of the university and enhances its efforts to graduate competent persons with a high level of efficiency and productivity, capable of meeting current and future labor market requirements.
For his part, Dr. Al-Ghazawi considered that cooperation with Arab Open University would support the efforts of Ebdaa Company in spreading the concept of financial inclusion by introducing more segments of society; whether they are students or entrepreneurs; to the banking process and introduce them to make use of the financial and banking services of all kinds, in addition to motivating Bahraini and Gulf youth to move to self-employment after providing them with the required skills in the field of microfinance and entrepreneurship.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Eltahawy, Head of AOU Training, Continuous Education and Community Service Center, and from Ebdaa Company, Mr. Youssef Qambar, human resources and administrative affairs manager, Mr. Hamza Qtaishat, the company's chief collection officer, and Mr. Mohamed Fadel, executive assistant to the CEO of the company.
