Arab Open University Organizes the Second Edition of Open Day “The Data Science Program will soon be launched”, stated AOU President
Arab Open University, Kingdom of Bahrain, organized the second Open Day on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the University's headquarters. The event aimed at welcoming all members of the local community and residents, as well as parents and guardians, in order to familiarize them with the University's various programmes under the three different Faculties and presenting a clear picture of the study plans of all majors and the richness of the educational experience at the University.
"This event is associated with the beginning of the new academic year to introduce a significant number of society and students interested in the University's majors as well as their introduction to the University's educational systems with its recent teaching methods, in order to provide the best study opportunity for all students”, stated Dr. GhurmAllah bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, University President.
"The University has introduced several new disciplines to keep pace with the local and global market, for example: Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Data Science, which will be rolled out in the upcoming period, immediately after the completion of all necessary validation requirements”, Dr. Al-Ghamdi further added.
"The University organizes an open day in collaboration with faculty members to familiarize students and parents with the old and modern disciplines, and in order to respond to all queries posed by students and their parents”, stated Dr. Hisham Al-Tahawi, President Assistant for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
"Arab Open University is one of the first universities to offer new disciplines that occupy the top positions in the market; confirming its commitment to keep abreast of everything that is new in the labour market”, Dr. Al-Tahawi further added.
"The University has adopted the blended-learning educational approach, offering both traditional and self-education, which contributes to developing students' skills and enhancing their computer skills. This educational system is based on the curriculum of Open University, UK, and it provides an ideal learning environment, with ‘state-of-the-art’ devices and academic research resources to help students and professors throughout their academic journeys”, Dr. Al-Tahawi explained.
Students and parents expressed the importance of attending the Open day organized by the University and the extent to which they benefited from this event, which provided them with information needed for enrollment.
