Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University, and President of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), the Arab Open University, Bahrain branch, organized the graduation ceremony of the 12th cohort of graduates on Monday, 10th of December 2018 at Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The speech of her Royal Highness, Princess Rima bint Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud that she delivered on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, was the highlight of the ceremony. In her Royal Highness’ speech, she extended the warmest congratulations and blessings to the graduates and their families, confirming that this occasion is a new proof of the success of Arab Open University in introducing a high-quality and flexible educational system that meets the aspirations of huge community segments who strive for advanced education irrespective of their age or their social, familial or career obligations.
Prof. Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zakri, president of the Arab Open University, also delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the University is offering high-quality education in a new way that transcends time, place and economic and social barriers. He also noted that the University's commitment to quality assurance goes in line with the Bahrain’s Higher Education Strategy (2014-2024) administered by the Higher Education Council, which aims at providing graduates with the skills, knowledge and values required to succeed in the global knowledge economy and contributing to the sustainable development and competitiveness of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Prof. Badr el Din Ibrahim, director of the Arab Open University, Bahrain Branch, delivered a speech in which he also noted that AOU has received full confidence in the programme review conducted by the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2013 and 2014. AOU is also internationally accredited by the Open University -UK Validation Services (OUVS) for five years starting from 2017 till 2022. In addition, he highlighted the fact that the University's commitment to quality assurance goes in conformity with the Bahrain’s Higher Education Strategy (2014-2024) administered by the Higher Education Council.
At the end of the ceremony, Her Royal Highness Princess Rima bint Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, representative of the patron of the ceremony, His Royal Highness Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, handed the certificates to the graduates wishing them the best of luck and success in all their future pursuits.
