M-Learning

Mobile learning is one of our most recently introduced learning resources that shall have major impact on facilitating the learning experiences for both our faculty and students. The Arab Open University in Bahrain has adopted this modern technology because we realize that mobile technology shall help deliver high quality learning.

M-learning offers a powerful and practical solution for learning and training as it provides students with interactive educational content such as (explanations, summaries, self-assessment questions and audiovisual .... etc) anywhere and anytime.

The Mobile Learning Project provides mobile authoring, publishing, delivery and tracking solutions. The project anticipated the need for mobile content in the form of learning, reference, surveys, testing and job aids to support a growing remote and field workforce. Mobile learning system includes content development and publishing system (LMA), integrated with mobile delivery and tracking system (MDTS).

Mobile Delivery and Tracking System (MDTS):

This system is used to collect course and assessment results of mobile learners using any device, and records these results directly in the AOU LMS for unified tracking and analysis with all other learning environment results.

The integrated offering automatically generates and synchronizes all existing User/Learner accounts and credentials established within the LMS with the mobile learning platform, simplifying setup and systems management.

The university is also pleased to announce that it has granted students with first hands-on experience in this project by allowing them to participate in developing mobile learning contents modules. By now, the pioneering team of volunteer students have been already trained and are currently working on this project!
